CCA LEAPS Information for 2017

LEAPS 2.0 (for Sec 1 – 4) and LEAPS (for Sec 5 only) is a framework to recognise secondary school students’ holistic development. Students will be recognised with levels of attainment in four domains: Participation, Achievement, Leadership and Service

Points awarded to Sec 1 to 4 students under 'Participation' for the Main CCA:

•   Participated in the same CCA for 4 years with at least 75% attendance for each year •   Participated in the same CCA for 5 years with at least 75% attendance for each year

 

Points awarded to Sec 5 students under ‘Participation’ for the Main CCA:

ATTENDANCE Points under Participation
At least 75% attendance with active participation in CCA  One point per year
50% to 74% CCA points for that year will not be computed
Less than 50% CCA points accumulated up to and including that year would be annulled

Award of CCA points

At the end of the graduating year, the student’s co-curricular attainment will be recognised according to the tables below. The co-curricular attainment will be translated to  bonus  point(s) which can be used for admission to junior colleges/polytechnics/institutes of Technical Education (JC/Poly/ITE). Students must refer to individual admission criteria of JC, Poly and ITE for specific details.

Co-Curricular Grading Scheme LEAPS 2.0 for Sec 1 to 4 students (ONLY)

LEAPS awards points in Leadership, Achievement, Participation and Service. The table A shows level attainment for the four domains. The table A shows the student’s co-curricular attainment and conversion to bonus points.

Excellent A minimum Level 3 in all four domains with at least Level 4 in one domain. The student has fulfilled the requirements for holistic development and achieved quality learning in the co-curriculum. 2
Good A minimum Level 1 in all four domains with any one of the following:

  1. At least Level 2 in three domains;
  2. At least Level 2 in one domain and at least Level 3 in another domain; or
  3. At least Level 4 in one domain.
The student has fulfilled the requirements for holistic development in the co-curriculum. 1
Fair Has not met the minimum criteria for a good co-curricular attainment. The student is working towards holistic development in the co- curriculum. Nil

The co-curricular grading scheme, LEAPS, awards points in Leadership, Enrichment, Achievement, Participation and Service. The Table C shows the maximum points for each category and Table D shows the CCA grading scale:
