Parent Support Group

Our PSG Vision
Parents as partners in the holistic development and learning of students.

"Education is a joint responsibility, a shared adventure. To achieve full results, we need to change mindsets of teachers, students, parents and the community. Close collaboration between school, home and community will be essential."

Ex-President S R Nathan (The Straits Times, October 5, 1999)

PSG Chairman's Message

Eng Peck HongDear parents,

It is my pleasure to welcome you into our RSS-PSG family. I am greatly honoured to serve my two-year term as Chairman of the school’s Parent Support Group. With our vision “To enhance students’ holistic learning” in mind, we strive to contribute towards providing quality education and holistic development to our children through partnership with the school.

Our PSG will keep abreast with the changes in the educational landscape and provide the school the necessary support where needed. We will continue to promote and improve parental access and engagement within the school, as well as provide information, support and help for all through talks and Family Matters! Programmes supported by Ministry of Social and Family Development. Opportunities will be created for our parents to support their children’s learning and provide the school with quality services to enhance the learning environment in RSS.

We would like to commit our resource and support to the school community and play a pivotal role in educating the students on social responsibility and community awareness through positive role-modelling and guidance. There are many platforms through which we can partner the school. Parents can actively involve ourselves in school activities like accompanying pupils on field trips, fund-raising during school events and showing our support during commemorative days like National Day and Racial Harmony Day. We can provide contacts with other organisations and facilitate introduction of creative ideas and new initiatives which may chart new boundaries in learning.

Do find time to come down and positively impact the school environment so that moving forward we can see and educated, active and responsible citizenry in Singapore.
